Shueitou is the only village in Kinmen formed commercial port and pier, with its specific geographical condition of facing the sea that shapes the village to be with a distinctive village style differentiated from that of other villages, including a multi-clan village, Deyue Tower build for guarding against the pirates, the Western style house (Barbarian House), school (Jinshuei Elementary School). The other distinctive buildings in Shueitou Village include the Huang's Youtang Tutor School (also called Huang Bai-wuan Villa built by millionaire Huang who enjoyed his business success by doing business in sea transportation) and the earliest comb-style layout of “area of the eighteen old houses which is similar to the modern urban planning division)” (eighteen beams) are the first of its kind in Kinmen (Shueitou Youtang Tutor School is the only garden architecture in Kinmen), thus proving the distinctive traits and significance Shueitou Village has long been enjoyed. Shueitou Village is located to the southwest of Kinmen island, and Shueitou was its ancient name. Distinguished from another Shueitou Village located in the north of the island, the two villages are named Front Shueitou and Rear Shuitou respectively, as the former one is named “Golden Water,” now Shueitou, and Rear Shueitou is named “Wenshuei,” now Rear Shueitou.
